Ongoing - HealthBridge Alliance's F.I.R.S.T. Workshop (Finding Inner Resiliency for Secondary Trauma) to build resiliency against secondary trauma and compassion fatigue, revitalize your passion for your work, and learn to care for yourself. For the Workshop Schedule, click here.

Ongoing - Ending Violence Against Women Project A Multi-disciplinary Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Training Program. The EVAW Project conducts trainings for persons working with domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking cases, including: law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, victim advocates, social workers, probation officers, and all other professionals and interested community members. Ongoing - Master's in Criminal Justice Degree Program on Domestic Violence (PDV)  Offered by the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center Graduate School of Public Affairs.  For more information, a list of courses offered, and/or to register, click here.

Ongoing - County Sheriff's of Colorado/Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police are introducing a new crime scene series for patrol officers and experienced investigators in the NE region of Colorado. For more information, click here.

Ongoing - On-Line Training Institute (OLTI), developed by End Violence Against Women (EVAW) International, brings state-of-the art training to anyone who is interested, on the topic of criminal justice response to sexual assault. This On-Line Training Institute provides the opportunity for interested professionals to expand their knowledge of cutting-edge developments in the criminal justice and community response to sexual assault, with particular emphasis on those crimes committed by someone who is known to the victim (i.e. non-strangers). December 7-9, 2008 - CO Regional Conference on the Health Care Response to DV Over 200 physicians, nurses, dentists, and other health care practitioners from the Rocky Mountain Region are expected to attend this three-day conference at the Grand Hyatt in Denver. December 20, 2008 - Safety through Empowerment! Personal Safety Skills for Latinas Gain confidence and increase safety by learning physical, verbal, and mental self-protection techniques specific for women, regardless of size or strength. Mental and verbal skills include boundary setting, assertiveness techniques, power shout, knowledge of attacks and attackers, and vulnerable body targets. Physical techniques include snap kick, strikes to disable an attacker, and fighting stance. Latina-focused discussion topics will explore barriers and options to self-protection within Latina/o communities. January, 2009 - 6th Observance of National Stalking Awareness Month (NSAM) The National Center for Victims of Crime's Stalking Resource Center is proud to join the Office on Violence Against Women at the U.S. Department of Justice, to focus attention on the serious and deadly crime of stalking. Each year, more than one million women and nearly 4000,000 men in the United States are victims of stalking. This year's NSAM theme, "Stalking: Know It. Name It. Stop It." challenges communities to combat this dangerous crime by learning more about it and taking action. The Stalking Resource Center and the office on Violence Against Women will soon be launching the 2009 National Stalking Awar3eness Month Web site at http://stalkingawarenessmonth.org. The site will offer fact sheets, media tools, brochures, posters and artwork, and much more.

June 22-24, 2009 - NCVC 2009 National Conference The National Center for Victims of Crime is currently seeking workshop proposals on a wide range of topics to be scheduled for either 90 or 180 minutes in length.
