We strive to eliminate personal and societal violence against all women and children be empowerment through education, support services, and by promoting social change within the Weld and Northern Adams Counties, including women in same-sex domestic violence situations.
Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) provides relocated survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses, or stalking, with a substitute address to use in place of their actual address when they apply for or receive state or local government services (i.e. driver's license, voter registration, public school records). The goal of the ACP is to prevent an abuser or potential abuser from finding the survivor through the state's public records. The ACP is a records protection program, not a witness protection program. The ACP does not assist participans with legal advice, obatining new names, or social security number, or with relocating to a new residence.

Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Convicted Sex Offender Site - This site lists only certain high-risk registered sex offenders in the following categories: Sexually Violent Predator, Multiple Offenses, and Failed to Register. Most sex offenders convicted after 1991 are required to register with the local law enforcement agency where they reside. Each police or sheriff's agency is required to maintain a list of convicted sex offenders in their jurisdiction and is required to release that information to any citizen of the jurisdiction who requests it.

WINGS Foundation "WINGS is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1982. WINGS has established a solid reputation as a powerful resource for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. WINGS assists survivors as they work to reduce the trauma of childhood sexual abuse, improve their quality of life, and break the cycle of childhood sexual abuse." What a great site. They are very proud and have reason to be. There is a lot of information in a useable format at this site for victims as well as service providers.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study The ACE Study is a ongoing collaborative study between CDC and Kaiser Permanente's Department of Preventive Medicine in San Diego, CA. The study examines the possible effects that adverse childhood experiences can have on numerous public health, social, and individual medical problems across the life stages, and had already established a link between adverse childhood experiences and development of chronic illnesses throughout the life stages. This site can provide a broad array of users with information about findings and other aspects of the study.

(C.O.P.S.) provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Gifts From Within (GFW) is an international nonprofit organization that is dedicated to those who suffer post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), those at risk for PTSD, and those who care for traumatized individuals. GFW's educational materials include videotapes, books, and articles for both clinicians and those experiencing PTSD. GFW developed the Support Pal Network which networks survivors with one another for emotional support through email, regular mail, phone, poetry, music, and electronic art gallery.
Heart to Heart Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County, North Carolina, has an excellent web site. Included is a wealth of information including a Male Rape Information Sheet that is quite thorough and very useful, especially since there is limited information available for those that serve this population.
It Happened to Alexa is an amazing organization started by the family of a rape survivor who was sexually assaulted in a dorm at Boston University. This organization helps cover the costs of a support person or persons to accompany a rape victim to court (including parents, close friends, guardians, or other family members). The trial venue must be over 60 miles from the residence of the support persons in order to qualify, and costs covered include transportation, meals and lodging.

Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network A site based in Washington, DC that operates a national toll-free hotline for victims of sexual assault. RAINN was founded in July, 1994, by singer/songwriter Tori Amos (who is herself a rape survivor) and was funded with initial grants from the Atlantic Group and the Warner Music Group. Over 4,000 victims called the hotline in its first thirty days!
SATI (Sexual Assault Training & Investigations) provides effective, victim-centered, multi-disciplinary training and expert consultation regarding crimes of sexual assault. This training is "essential for criminal justice professionals, including police, prosecutors, judges, probation and parole officers.
