A Woman's Place, Inc. is a battered woman's safehouse which provides women and their children a safe environment and an escape from violence and fear. We strive to eliminate personal and societal violence against all women and children be empowerment through education, support services, and by promoting social change within the Weld and Northern Adams Counties, including women in same-sex domestic violence situations.

Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) provides relocated survivors of domestic violence, sexual offenses, or stalking, with a substitute address to use in place of their actual address when they apply for or receive state or local government services (i.e. driver's license, voter registration, public school records). The goal of the ACP is to prevent an abuser or potential abuser from finding the survivor through the state's public records. The ACP is a records protection program, not a witness protection program. The ACP does not assist participans with legal advice, obatining new names, or social security number, or with relocating to a new residence.

A.L.I.E. Foundation Abducted, Lost, Innocent -- Enough  A.L.I.E. Foundation provides public safety lectures on child abduction awareness and places between 15 and 20 trained Bloodhounds a year with law enforcement groups.

AMEND's mission is to help men and women break the cycle of family abuse so that they, and their children, may live in safe and peaceful homes.  This site includes statistics, a Frequently Asked Questions link, and resources.

Archuleta County Sheriff's Department  This site is primarily about the Sheriff's Department and other Public Safety Issues in Archuleta County, Colorado.

Blue Sky Bridge provides support services to child victims of physical and sexual abuse and non-offending family members.  Blue Sky Bridge also provides information on prevention and intervention to the community and is a Child and Family Advocacy Program."  A very nice site!

Colorado Anti-Violence Program is dedicated to ending violence within and against the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, and to ensuring that the highest quality services are provided to victims and survivors of hate, domestic, sexual, and enforcement violence.

Colorado Bureau of Investigations, Convicted Sex Offender Site - This site lists only certain high-risk registered sex offenders in the following categories: Sexually Violent Predator, Multiple Offenses, and Failed to Register. Most sex offenders convicted after 1991 are required to register with the local law enforcement agency where they reside. Each police or sheriff's agency is required to maintain a list of convicted sex offenders in their jurisdiction and is required to release that information to any citizen of the jurisdiction who requests it.  

Colorado Bar Association Domestic Violence: Make It Your Business.  This is a site about the facts of domestic violence and its impact on all our workplaces and a site about the responses and resources we can individually -- and collectively -- use to reduce domestic violence, thereby reducing the multiple costs to victims, families, friends, and workplaces.  This site also has many resources related to domestic violence.

Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV), is statewide, grassroots nonprofit agency, has been coordinating services for domestic violence victims and their families since 1978.  Visit their site for information on public policy issues, how to get help and more.

Colorado Courts Home Page This website serves all state courts that are part of the Colorado Judicial Branch.  this includes the Colorado Supreme Court and the Court of appeals as well as all the district and county courts except Denver County Court and Denver Probate Court.  It does not include municipal courts.  The Restitution Page has been added recently and has an amazing amount of information.  To go there directly, click here.

Families of Homicide Victims and Missing Persons (FOHVAMP) is a non-profit organization made up of families of victims of unresolved homicides and missing persons. FOHVAMP is asking for help from victim advocates in identifying families of victims of unresolved homicides.  They are gathering information on Colorado's unresolved homicides into a database and will publish it on their web site.

Rocky Mountain Sex Therapy provides seminars for people of all ages who are currently dating called DATE SAFE. WINGS Foundation  "WINGS is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1982. WINGS has established a solid reputation as a powerful resource for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. WINGS assists survivors as they work to reduce the trauma of childhood sexual abuse, improve their quality of life, and break the cycle of childhood sexual abuse."  What a great site.  They are very proud and have reason to be.  There is a lot of information in a useable format at this site for victims as well as service providers.

Accessing Safety Initiative The Accessing Safety Initiative helps organizations and communities meet the needs of women with disabilities & Deaf women who are victims or survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, & stalking.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study The ACE Study is a ongoing collaborative study between CDC and Kaiser Permanente's Department of Preventive Medicine in San Diego, CA.  The study examines the possible effects that adverse childhood experiences can have on numerous public health, social, and individual medical problems across the life stages, and had already established a link between adverse childhood experiences and development of chronic illnesses throughout the life stages.  This site can provide a broad array of users with information about findings and other aspects of the study.  

Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence "The Asian & Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence is a national network of advocates; community members; professionals from health, mental health, law, education, and social services; survivors; scholars; researchers; and activists from public policy, community organizations, youth programs, immigrants’ rights networks, communities of color, women’s groups, lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender communities, and other social justice organizations. We serve as a forum for, and clearinghouse on information, research, resources and critical issues about violence against women in Asian and Pacific Islander communities."

Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. (C.O.P.S.) provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty as determined by Federal criteria. Furthermore, COPS provides training to law enforcement agencies on survivor victimization issues and educates the public of the need to support the law enforcement profession and its survivors.

Crisis Response in Our Schools (A Practical Guide for) is a publication of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and is available on-line.

Dating Violence Web Site - part of the National Center for Victims of Crime resources.  This exciting new web page provides significant new information for the field.  New online resources include Teen Dating Violence & Campus Dating Violence fact sheets; Teen Tip Sheets; Outreach materials; Dating Violence related research; and Resource Reviews of books, films, and other materials available for education and outreach efforts.

Gifts From Within (GFW) is an international nonprofit organization that is dedicated to those who suffer post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), those at risk for PTSD, and those who care for traumatized individuals.  GFW's educational materials include videotapes, books, and articles for both clinicians and those experiencing PTSD.  GFW developed the Support Pal Network which networks survivors with one another for emotional support through email, regular mail, phone, poetry, music, and electronic art gallery.

Heart to Heart Rape Crisis Center of Catawba County, North Carolina, has an excellent web site.  Included is a wealth of information including a Male Rape Information Sheet that is quite thorough and very useful, especially since there is limited information available for those that serve this population. 

It Happened to Alexa is an amazing organization started by the family of a rape survivor who was sexually assaulted in a dorm at Boston University. This organization helps cover the costs of a support person or persons to accompany a rape victim to court (including parents, close friends, guardians, or other family members). The trial venue must be over 60 miles from the residence of the support persons in order to qualify, and costs covered include transportation, meals and lodging.

Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) The mission of the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is to provide federal leadership to reduce violence against women, and to administer justice for and strengthen services to all victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This is accomplished by developing and supporting the capacity of state, local, tribal, and non-profit entities involved in responding to violence against women.

The National Center for Victims of Crime is the nation's leading resource and advocacy organization dedicated to supporting crime victims and those who serve them."  Their web site includes helpful information for everyone from victims of crime to the agencies that serve them.

National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund  The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund honors the over 15,000 federal, state, and local Law Enforcement Officers killed in the line of duty by engraving their names on the Memorial wall in Washington, DC.  It's possible on this site to sign up to receive the latest news and events from the Memorial as well as information about the Memorial Officer of the Month.

Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network A site based in Washington, DC that operates a national toll-free hotline for victims of sexual assault.  RAINN was founded in July, 1994, by singer/songwriter Tori Amos (who is herself a rape survivor) and was funded with initial grants from the Atlantic Group and the Warner Music Group.  Over 4,000 victims called the hotline in its first thirty days!

SATI (Sexual Assault Training & Investigations) provides effective, victim-centered, multi-disciplinary training and expert consultation regarding crimes of sexual assault.  This training is "essential for criminal justice professionals, including police, prosecutors, judges, probation and parole officers.  Community-based advocates, social workers, military personnel, state victim/witness assistance employees, sexual assault forensic examiners and other medical staff will also greatly benefit by obtaining a clear understanding of the role of law enforcement and how collaborative efforts can improve coordinated community responses to crimes of sexual violence."

You Have the Power Know How to Use It, Inc., a not-for-profit agency founded in 1993 in Nashville, Tennessee, is dedicated to raising awareness about crime and justice issues.
